A rugged schedule was met by a sound group of girls’ soccer players at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
Bridgewater-Raritan’s 2025 season came to an end when it challenged another strong foe, Westfield High School, in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 state tournament final on Saturday, November 16, in Westfield.
Bridgewater-Raritan fell to Westfield, 1-0, despite holding a 20-4 advantage in shots and a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Coach Sean Casey and his team should be commended for the squad's 14-9 record, achieved by playing strong teams throughout the year, including Rutgers Prep, ranked No. 1 in New Jersey, and Westfield, ranked No. 4.
“The final record was 14-9, which is a little deceiving as all the losses were to teams ranked in the state, and seven of those losses were to teams ranked in the top 10 of the state,” Coach Casey reported.
Coach Casey pointed out that Bridgewater-Raritan went 14-1 against public schools and is 30-4-1 over the last two seasons against public schools.
“We competed with and beat several of the top teams in the state,” he said.
