Update on Coronavirus as of 2/5/2020

For updated information regarding the Coranovirus, please see the NJ Department of Education’s updated broadcast, attached here, which includes links to important information from the Department of Health.

Within the B-R community, we must continue to work together to keep everyone safe. While the school district continues to support all of our students and our families, we urge everyone to be aware of the current recommendation from our health experts and follow their direction as it applies to your family and your students.

If it is necessary, for the safety of all, to keep a student home from school for a prolonged period of time because of this issue, please contact your guidance counselor who, in conjunction with the building administrator, can work with you to ensure the continuation of your student's educational program.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Russell M. Lazovick

Superintendent

Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District

Many families have reached out to us for information regarding the Coronavirus.

The district has been in touch with both the state and county for guidance. At this point, there are no changes to school policy. We ask, as always, that families follow our attendance procedures. They are available on each school website under Parent Resources > Health Office.

In addition, it is important to note that washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds frequently throughout the day is a recommended practice to reduce your risk of contracting any communicable illness. Also, please make certain that students are symptom-free (i.e. fever, vomiting) for at least 24 hours before returning to school.

Further, we feel that it is important to share information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the state health office regarding this virus.  Please read the attached Novel Coronavirus fact sheet for guidance during this outbreak.
